Boone County’s workforce is well trained in highly-technical manufacturing, food, logistics, office and other industries. The workers in Boone County and the Indianapolis region are ideal for even the most challenging needs, and there’s no shortage of talented people. In fact, within a 35-mile radius, the region boasts a population of more than 1.7 million, assuring an ample workforce. Plus, Indiana is a Right-to-Work state.
Our strong heritage in these areas isn’t just a thing of the past. Starting with the strong scores and graduation rates at Boone County K-12 schools, the area is well served by higher education schools offering vocational training and excellent post-graduate options. In fact, all three of our K-12 school corporations are among the top twenty-five in the state.
In many of our K-12 schools, students receive a computer or tablet for their personal educational use. Among our educational resources is a new Vincennes University training and education center with a special emphasis on Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining, Injection Molding, Robotics, and Industrial Maintenance. Haas Automation, a leader in machine tools and CNC technology, will open a showroom in the same location, which will become a valuable resource to the school.
